Ford’s Theater Washington, DC

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on Friday, April 14, 1865 at Ford’s Theater in Washington. Actor and Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln in the back of the head while the president watched the comedy Our American Cousin with his wife and two guests. Lincoln died the following day in William Petersen’s boarding house across the street from Ford’s at 7:22 am.
